Cle de Peau Silver Eclipse (306) Eye Color Quad

Cle de Peau Silver Eclipse (306) Eye Color Quad ($55.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a set of peach, plum, silver, and black. It reminded me of New Year’s Eve for some reason (maybe it’s the mixture of black and silver with an overall metallic sheen). I think the colors work really well together, but I wasn’t as impressed with the pigmentation or the texture of two of the shades. At this price point, I would expect perfection, particularly with respect to being soft, smooth, and blendable. It did apply better than I think it swatched, which was a nice surprise, but it could have been better. (Note, the price is for just the pan of four shades, if you want the official compact to house them, that will run you an additional $25. I keep all of mine in a Z-palette.)

Silver Eclipse #1 is a brightened, pink-peach with a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff that was buildable to fully opaque color with two layers. The texture was soft, finely-milled, and easily blended on the skin. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Silver Eclipse #2 is a muted, plummy mauve with very subtle warm undertones and a frost finish. It had very nice pigmentation with a silky-smooth consistency that was a cinch to work with. The color didn’t start to fade until after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Silver Eclipse #3 is a light-medium, silvery gray with chunky silver sparkle. The consistency was more crumbly–too soft in a way–and had a chunkiness to it that made it hard to apply evenly. It didn’t stick well to the skin, and even patted on top of primer, it wasn’t great (I think it needs a tackier base so it adheres better). I had a fair amount of fall out during application, but there was only minor fall out after that. It lasted for almost eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Silver Eclipse #4 is a dark black with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had so-so color payoff and was drier in consistency, which made it more difficult to blend out–and blendability is so important when you have deeper shades like this!
